About
Welcome.
I’m a 30 year old geek. I don’t feel 30, but I’m not all that happy about having to confess to the number. I’ve been living in Silicon Valley since the summer of 2007 and it has been an eye-opening experience. I was a big fish in a small pond back in the Old Country. Here, well, it’s an ocean and I’m still not sure I can handle the salt, sharks, trolling, and trophy wives. Ocean sunsets are usually better, though, and I don’t miss the snow.
Early in 2008, I went through a mildly trying experience and at the end of it, I emerged outwardly unscathed. I was, and to some extent, still am, unable to get my head around it. While discussing the matter over Chinese food one evening, my girlfriend (known as “herself” in these pages) said to me: “Do you think the pig that doesn’t get turned into bacon bemoans his fate?”
When I named this blog, I had no idea I was cribbing from Jane’s Addiction. The video I found for the song on YouTube was lackluster at best.
Not to be self-important or cliché, but I’ve always aspired to be a perpetual learner. I’m just a student, and this is my journey to find some of that Pig Zen.
WordPress makes the HTML here so I don’t have to; I did the whole code-it-by-hand thing when “the blogosphere” wasn’t a twinkle in anyone’s eye. I looked at far too many WordPress themes; ScribbishWP is the one upon which this site is based. While I love them both for making my life easier, only my words get to show up on every page. I hope that doesn’t make me any more egotistical than I already must be for thinking people want to read this stuff.
